The Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina has provided us with information that the Protocol between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on cooperation in the field of education, signed on July 25, 2013 for five academic years and expired at the end of the academic year 2017/2018. After the legal procedure on July 4, 2018 and with the exchange of diplomatic notes the validity of the Protocol has been extended until the end of the study year in which Bosnia and Herzegovina will become a member of the European Union.

In accordance with the provisions of the Protocol, from the academic year 2013/2014, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are equal to citizens of the Republic of Slovenia and the EU in terms of payment of study costs. After signing the Protocol, students from Bosnia and Herzegovina have not been charged scholarships for foreigners, which they paid before signing the Protocol.

Also, within the Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes (CMEPIUS), 18 monthly scholarships for study training at higher education institutions in the Republic of Slovenia are available to citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina every year.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina informed the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina that the extension of the said Protocol has been ratified and that the Decision on Ratification of the Extension of the Protocol between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on Cooperation in the Field of Education published in the "Official Gazette of BiH" - International Agreements, No. 08 on July 6, 2020.
