Organized by the Regional Council Cooperation (RCC), two days Meeting Delivering the MAP REA (Multi-annual Action Plan on Regional Economic Area in the Western Balkans): Recognition of Academic Qualifications and Quality Assurance Systems in the Western Balkans, with representatives of ENIC/NARIC centres from Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo (the name defined with the UN Resolution 1244 from 1999), and Montenegro through online connection, was held in Tirana, Albania, 1-2 October 2020. Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented by the Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education (CIP).

Tirana RCC Finalizing RDD 1-2 October 2020Tirana RCC Finalizing RDD 1-2 October 2020 2The aim of the meeting was a finalizing of the developing Regional Recognition Database (RRD), which aims to facilitate recognition procedures in the Western Balkans economies, provide different statistical data, which will even contribute to educational reforms in the filed of recognition in these economics.

The RRD is developing jointly by the RCC and the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe (ERI SEE), but with a significant assistance of the CIP. It has been developing during the sommer and this was the first meeting in which the database was tested by the representatives of ENIC/NARIC centres dealing with recognition.

In the next period the main findings concerning an improvement of the database will be delivered by the centres to the RCC. Centres also express their interest for additional trainings which will be held in the next period in an organization of the RCC. In a cooperation with the CIP, the RCC will also organize a training for recognition bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
