The annual International Conference "Practice of Recognition Bridging Continents" was organized by the National Information Centre on foreign recognition (FGBU "Glavexpertcentre") and was held on 14th and 15th October 2016 in Moscow.

More than 100 participants took part in the Conference including representatives of the Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education. They have a presentation Development of Qualifications Framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Moscow Russia Conference Practice of Recognition Bridging Continents 14-15 October 2016Participants of the Conference confirmed their commitment to the principles of the Bologna Process, and also to the purposes, methods and approaches mentioned in the Lisbon Recognition Convention and the Groningen Declaration. They also noted the existing problems in recognition procedures of foreign qualifications including considering the long-standing need in creation and of the universal unified document concerning recognition of foreign qualifications – the Global Convention, taking into consideration the need of development and acceptance of the state strategy of education internationalization, realizing the need of coordination of activities in terms of recognition of period of learning and qualifications.

For the purpose of expansion of the academic mobility between countries, participants of the Conference considered necessary to:

- strengthen efforts in the creation of the Global Convention on Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education;

- analyze best practices of the Russian Federation in the field of automatic recognition of foreign education and qualifications;

- discuss questions of recognition of the Russian higher education level the specialist’s degree by taking into account the learning outcomes for the purpose of carrying out fair recognition.  

The conference ended up with a discussion and adoption of the final recommendations that define the main development directions of the recognition system of foreign education and qualifications in the Russian Federation and worldwide.
