Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education, in a procedure on adoption of a Work Program for 2020, carries out a process of public consultations in accordance with the Decision on Annual Planning and the Mode of Tracking and Reporting in Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of BiH, No. 94/14).

Technical University Moldova was the host of the SPHERE Seminar concerning recognition of higher education qualifications. Higher Education Reform Experts and the National Erasmus+ offices of EU partner countries, as well as a representatives of BIH institutions, that is, Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education, Ministry for Scientific and Technological Development Higher Education and Information Societyof the Republic of Srpska, the University of Sarajevo and National Erasmus+ Office in BiH attended the Seminar.

The Fifth Negotiations Meeting concerning Agreement on Recognition of Professional Qualifications for Doctors of Medicine, Dentist, Architects and Civil Engineers was held in Brussels on 14 May 2019, in organization of RCC (Regional Cooperation Council). Delegations of six economies from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo (the name defined with the UN Resolution 1244 from 1999) participated at the meeting.

The Sixth Meeting of the Joint ERI SEE – RCC Working Group on Recognition of Academic Qualifications was held in Brussels on 13 May 2019 in organization of RCC (Regional Cooperation Council). Representatives of the ministries and ENIC/NARIC centres from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo (the name defined with the UN Resolution 1244 from 1999) participated at the meeting.


Brussels Sixth Meeting of the Joint ERI SEE RCC Working Group on RecognitionBrussels Sixth Meeting of the Joint ERI SEE RCC Working Group on Recognition 2The main part of the meeting was dedicated to Draft Declaration on Recognition of Academic Qualifications. It was discussed about the provisions concerning recognition of short first cycle degrees, bachelor and master degrees as well as the role of the RCC especially concerning further development in this area. After the comprehensive analysis the final version of the Draft Declaration was agreed and will be sent to all countries for final approval. This Declaration will be part of the Sixth Annual Berlin Process Summit in the Polish city of Poznań which will take place on 4 and 5 July 2019.

The progress related to Joint Information System, which will facilitate recognition procedure not only qualification from the respective countries, was presented.

Declaration doesn’t include provisions related to the recognition of PhD degrees as well as pre-Bologna qualification which will be discussed on the next meeting of the Working Group which is predicted to be held in September 2019.

In Brčko District of BiH, on the premises of the University of East Sarajevo, Faculty of Economics, on 3-4 April 2019, the Final Confrence of the Project "Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education" (STINT project) was held.

The Conference gathered together all project partners, the Centre for Information and Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education, 8 public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is University of Bihac, University of Banja Luka, Dzemal BijedicUniversity, University of Mostar, University of East Sarajevo, University of Sarajevo, University of Tuzla, University of Zenica, the Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance, the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska, the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, international partners KU Leuven and Polytechnic Institute of Porto (Instituto Politécnico do Porto), Delegation of the European Union to BiH, National Erasmus+ Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, students and local community.

Organized by the Ministry for Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, with support of Erasmus+ Project Strengthening of Internationalisation in B&H Higher Education (STINT Project), a one-day Conference Challenges in Higher Education - Internationalisation was held in Banja Luka on 8 April 2019.

The aim of the Conference was the exchange of knowledge and best practices toward an improvement of quality in higher education especially through internationalisation activities of domestic higher education institutions.
